NextGEN Lifesavers

More than swimming.
More than sport.
A new way to experience the water.

NextGEN Lifesavers is a Royal Life Saving Queensland program that introduces young people aged 8–17 to the exciting world of lifesaving through practical skills, teamwork, challenges and Pool Lifesaving Sport.

Designed as an alternative pathway for young people who enjoy being in the water but may not connect with traditional competitive swimming, NextGEN combines the fun of sport with real-world lifesaving skills. Participants develop confidence, fitness, teamwork and leadership while learning skills that can make a difference in an emergency.

Through engaging activities and Pool Lifesaving Sport, participants can continue to develop their abilities, connect with local lifesaving communities and progress through pathways that may lead to volunteering, leadership opportunities and future aquatic careers.

Whether they are looking to try something new, build their confidence in the water, compete in lifesaving sport or explore a career in the aquatic industry, NextGEN Lifesavers helps young people take the next step in their aquatic journey.

Start your journey. Build your skills. Become the next generation of lifesavers.
